This field trip goes along with the students&#8217; social studies curriculum in learning about the past and how communities change over time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to teacher Elise Vermillion, the students had a blast touring the Kellogg House and looking in all of the rooms. They were able to play with an old organ and with old-fashioned toys. Many were fascinated by the Jacob&#8217;s ladder toy, a folk\u00a0toy\u00a0consisting of blocks of wood held together by strings or ribbons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upstairs, the students dressed up in old Victorian-era dresses and vests. Outside, they watched a blacksmith go through the process of making a nail.
