Students who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher during the first quarter were rewarded with delicious cookies, part of a new tradition celebrating hard work and dedication to academic excellence.<br><br>The event, fittingly dubbed &#8220;Smart Cookies,&#8221; is all about recognizing students who have worked diligently and proven to show individual determination. Each \u201cSmart Cookie\u201d was acknowledged for their outstanding achievements and commitment to AVID\u2019s core principles of WICOR: Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, organization and Reading.<br><br>\u201cThis is our way of showing that hard work pays off,\u201d said Mrs. Jack, AVID Coordinator at Yorba Linda Middle School. \u201cWe want our students to know their commitment doesn\u2019t go unnoticed.\u201d<br>Students enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate with their peers, enjoy some well-earned treats, and feel proud of their hard-earned success.
