On Wednesday, November 6, Kraemer Middle School and Ruby Drive Elementary partnered once again to participate in \u201cRead for the Record,\u201d a special event dedicated to bringing students together to promote a love of reading and build a sense of community across generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from Kraemer\u2019s PEER Leadership and GEAR UP classes enthusiastically joined Ruby Drive\u2019s TK and 1st graders to read Piper Chen Sings. After sharing this engaging story, Kraemer students bonded with their 1st-grade reading buddies through a series of planned activities in Ruby Drive\u2019s multipurpose room. These interactive exercises reinforced key concepts from the 1st-grade curriculum, enriching the reading experience with hands-on learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Ruby Drive and Kraemer Middle School are proud to hold the esteemed designation of AVID National Demonstration Schools. AVID\u2014Advancement Via Individual Determination\u2014empowers educators with proven strategies to accelerate student learning and prepare students for success in college, career, and beyond. Through collaborative, literacy-focused activities like Read for the Record, both schools continue to exemplify highly engaging and impactful instructional practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
