Three AVID seniors from Valencia High School\u2014Brenda Ruiz Martinez, Mayra Ruiz Martinez, and Bryan Figueroa\u2014have been named recipients of the prestigious 2025 Dell Scholars Program. Administered by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, the program selects 500 students nationwide each year to receive comprehensive support designed to ensure college graduation and long-term success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dell Scholars Program offers more than a traditional scholarship. In addition to a $20,000 financial award (disbursed over up to six years), each scholar receives a Dell laptop with a four-year warranty, textbook credits totaling up to $2,000, and access to a broad range of support services. These include personalized academic coaching, mental health and wellness resources, career development tools, and flexible financial support for housing, tuition, and other essential needs. The program is designed to empower students to focus on their studies and career preparation, while addressing challenges such as stress, childcare, and financial hardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility for the Dell Scholars Program is highly competitive. Students must be graduating high school seniors enrolled in a qualifying college readiness program such as AVID and planning to attend an accredited postsecondary institution full-time upon graduation. Successful applicants demonstrate a strong sense of purpose, a career-focused mindset, and the personal qualities of perseverance, motivation, and determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
