It was their annual Open House with the theme, &#8220;Rocking the &#8217;60s and &#8217;70s.&#8221; Dressed in tie-dye and flowers, Parkview staff and students channeled their inner &#8220;flower child.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Parkview community, along with visitors from the district office, had the opportunity to peruse student work and projects, participate in a variety of math activities, and try their chance at a cake and steak walk. Thanks to local businesses Marie Callender&#8217;s Restaurant &amp; Bakery, Coco&#8217;s, Zombee Donuts, Stater Bros. Markets, Panera Bread, Polly&#8217;s Pies, Albertsons, Costco, and The Butchery for donating baked goods for the cake walk and prime choice steaks for the steak walk.<\/p>\n<p>National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students earned community service hours, and displayed their leadership qualities by manning all the math game and dance venues.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees enjoyed a pizza dinner under the stars provided by Domino&#8217;s Pizza.<\/p>\n<p>Parkview&#8217;s Open House is often a conduit for prospective new families to the school and district. It is at this yearly event they&#8217;re able to meet the staff and other home school\/independent study families. At this informal forum, many of their questions about the programs available at Parkview are answered.<\/p>\n<p>What a great way to welcome them to the community!
