At Van Buren Elementary School, students in Mrs. Zunigabravo\u2019s Transitional Kindergarten class began the month of October with engaging, hands-on activities centered around the themes of fall and the Halloween season. Using playdough, students explored emotional expression by designing a variety of faces on real pumpkins. This creative exercise not only encouraged imaginative play but also supported fine motor skill development and social-emotional learning as students identified and named emotions such as happiness, anger, excitement, tiredness, and surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The learning continued as students participated in a themed math and coordination activity, stringing spider rings through straws to practice counting, number recognition, and hand-eye coordination. Through these seasonal activities, students strengthened essential early learning skills while celebrating the spirit of autumn in a fun and meaningful way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
