Students in Esperanza High School\u2019s Digital Design program have been combining creativity with technical mastery through a seasonal Adobe Illustrator project inspired by Halloween. The activity engages students in applying key design principles while reinforcing their understanding of the software\u2019s essential tools and features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the project, students practice using Illustrator to trace, copy, rotate, and scale images\u2014techniques that help them achieve balance and symmetry in their compositions. They also explore advanced design functions such as the Pathfinder panel, alignment options, and distribution tools to organize elements with precision on the artboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, students experiment with a range of artistic techniques, incorporating both straight and curved lines, creating basic and complex shapes, and utilizing the Shape Builder tool to refine and merge their illustrations. They further enhance their designs with fill and stroke colors, gradients, opacity adjustments, and special effects, while strengthening their proficiency with the Pen tool\u2014an essential component of digital design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each completed piece reflects students\u2019 growing creativity, technical confidence, and understanding of how to integrate artistic expression with digital precision.
