The event honored outstanding student achievement and brought together scholarship recipients, families, educators, and community partners to celebrate excellence in career technical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students representing a variety of Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways\u2014including Education, Food Service and Hospitality, Design, Visual and Media Arts, and Child Development\u2014were recognized for their academic accomplishments, leadership, and commitment to their chosen fields. Their achievements reflect both individual dedication and the strong support provided by teachers, mentors, and school communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several students from Valencia High School and Esperanza High School were selected as finalists and scholarship recipients for prestigious NOCROP awards. Among the honorees:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Brielle Iglesias <\/strong>(Valencia High School) was named a finalist for the School District-Level ROP Student of the Year Scholarship Award in the Education pathway and received a $500 scholarship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emerod Flores Lopez <\/strong>(Valencia High School) was recognized as a finalist for the School District-Level ROP Student of the Year Scholarship Award in Food Service and Hospitality and received a $500 scholarship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Emerod Flores Lopez<\/strong> (Valencia High School) was also selected as the recipient of the Anthony and Lorraine Trocchio Scholarship Award, earning a $1,000 scholarship for outstanding achievement in the Food Service and Hospitality pathway.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>June Brunner-Bodnaruk <\/strong>(Esperanza High School) was named the School District-Level ROP Student of the Year Scholarship Award recipient in the Design, Visual and Media Arts pathway and received a $1,000 scholarship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lily Trumbo <\/strong>(Valencia High School) received the Dewey Family Memorial Scholarship Award in the Child Development pathway and was awarded a $500 scholarship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Collectively, PYLUSD students earned <strong>$3,500 in scholarships<\/strong>, demonstrating the strength of the district\u2019s CTE programs and the exceptional talent of its students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joining students and their families in celebration were PYLUSD Board President Carrie Buck and Clerk Marilyn Anderson, along with Will Gray, Valencia High School Principal Chris Herzfeld, Esperanza High School Principal Kelly Molina, CTE educator Candace Alonzo, culinary arts instructor Gary Bradford, and CTE Teacher on Special Assignment Pia Ribbe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recognition of these students underscores PYLUSD\u2019s commitment to providing high-quality career technical education opportunities that prepare students for success in college, career, and life.
