On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, representatives from Build California and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Community Education Foundation visited Rudy Trejo\u2019s Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) class at Valencia High School to highlight career and educational opportunities within the construction industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the AGC Community Education Foundation presented North Orange County Regional Occupational Program (NOCROP) with a $2,500 School and Community Grant in recognition of its 2026 grant application. The grant will directly support career-connected learning opportunities for students, helping expand access to resources and experiences that introduce them to construction careers and strengthen the technical and workforce skills needed to pursue those pathways after high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the grant presentation, guest speakers Leslie Diaz and Lyn Nhong from Build California engaged students in a discussion about the wide range of careers available within the construction industry. Students learned about high-wage career pathways, industry training and apprenticeship programs, scholarship opportunities, and hands-on competitions designed to strengthen technical skills and introduce students to careers in the skilled trades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
