This past weekend, district students in their respective school’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapters competed at\u00a0the State Leadership Conference in Ontario. Over 2,000 high school students from across the state battled\u00a0in different business-focused concentrations.\u00a0The competition was fierce, but PYLUSD was\u00a0fiercer!<\/p>\n

Yorba Linda High School<\/strong>
\nCongrats to YLHS FBLA members Harshal Vaza and John State for placing second in the Marketing event. Harshal and John beat out over 30 teams all competing for a spot at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta in June.\u00a0Additionally, students\u00a0Zach Co, Nick Ding and Sumesh Rawal won the Shark Tank workshop. Sumesh Rawal also competed in Client Services, and placed in the top 12 out of 40 students competing.\u00a0This was an exciting and successful weekend for YLHS FBLA. Students are learning and succeeding. It’s a strong start for the\u00a0new chapter.<\/p>\n

Last but not least, YLHS business class students participated in a business and economics competition at California State University, Fullerton,\u00a0on Saturday, April 16. Over 300 students were in attendance to compete in the various events, and so were YLHS students Christian Canzone, Wren Thomasson\u00a0and\u00a0Marie Tobias. Christian and his team placed first in the Stock Market Game event, beating\u00a0out 2,500 teams! Congrats again!<\/p>\n

Valencia High School<\/strong>
\nAt the FBLA State Leadership Conference, junior Kevin Kim took home a third place award in the Job Interview event, while senior June Ho Park won third place in the Economics event.\u00a0Both qualified for FBLA’s National Leadership Conference in Atlanta in June.<\/p>\n

Notably, Kevin’s feedback was positively glowing \u2013 he was praised for being humble, as well as being a great leader. He averaged a 95\/100 in the final round. Valencia’s FBLA students truly do a wonderful job representing the district!<\/p>\n
