On Saturday, April 30, 17 school sites located in Placentia were part of the “Love Placentia” city-wide serve day event. Love Placentia is a partnership of 15+ local religious groups, city government, law enforcement, local businesses, service organizations, public and private education, and local residents. Their mission is to “demonstrate kindness, meet community needs and impact lives together.”<\/p>\n
The event began with a “kick off” at El Dorado High School at 8 a.m., and approximately 1,000 volunteers worked on projects throughout the morning at each Placentia school, as well as various local city locations. Projects primarily included site beautification, and each principal had the chance to provide input and walk the site with the cleanup volunteers.<\/p>\n
