{"id":463,"date":"2015-09-27T17:00:46","date_gmt":"2015-09-28T00:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=463"},"modified":"2016-03-01T09:07:47","modified_gmt":"2016-03-01T17:07:47","slug":"robotics-competition-at-valencia-features-30-high-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=463","title":{"rendered":"Robotics competition at Valencia features 30 high schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The TiGears, Valencia High School&#8217;s robotics team, hosted the Southern California Regional Robotics Forum&#8217;s (SCRRF) 2015 Fall Classic over the weekend on Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27.<\/p>\n<p>The annual off-season FIRST\u00ae Robotics Competition (FRC\u00ae) featured over 30 participating high school teams, and was based on FIRST&#8217;s 2015 Recycle Rush FRC (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usfirst.org\/frc\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.usfirst.org\/frc<\/a>) game.<\/p>\n<p>Taking images from three cameras and a computerized scoring system, students, using the school&#8217;s video production system, streamed video of the games across the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 9, 2016, FIRST will announce a new game. Six weeks later, Valencia will host a practice event in which teams from Southern California will test and fine tune their robots built specifically for that new competition.
