While on the boat, students counted and recorded different species of birds. They observed dolphins, sea lions and whales in their natural habitat. Seeing several pods of dolphins was the highlight of the trip. The dolphins were jumping out of the water, and swimming right next to the boat. On the way back, students had a quick sighting of a gray whale mother and her calf.
