At Melrose, they know children represent the hopes and dreams of every community. On Saturday, April 30, the school celebrated children with a special day that supported their well-being, encouraged their dreams and inspired a new generation of achievers. Since 1925, many nations throughout Latin America have celebrated “Día de los Niños.” This day recognizes not only a child’s hopes for the future, but also reflects cultural diversity, and involves families and the community. Students listened to stories read by Chuck E. Cheese, which encourages literacy; built their own sundaes, which was fun and delicious; and received a few prizes.

Sundaes, sprinkles, stories and Chuck E.
