Last Friday and Saturday night, Lakeview Elementary School had their very first school-wide play, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Junior<\/em>. It was absolutely adorable to watch \u2013 student performance was top notch! On Friday night only, a handful of Lakeview teachers also participated during intermission by reading a poem by Alyssa Finley, which read:<\/p>\n

Over the mountains of Hershey tint
\nBeyond the forest of peppermint
\nMore sour than pounds of Lemonheads
\nHigher than vines of Twizzler shreds<\/p>\n

Longer than shores of Pop Rocks
\nTaller than trees of lollipops
\nThicker than chewy taffy stalks
\nBigger than cotton candy Ring Pops<\/p>\n

Cooler than a Winterfresh breeze
\nHotter than Mike & Ike’s Hot Tamales
\nStronger than a Jawbreaker’s pain
\nMore colorful than a Skittle rain<\/p>\n

All the children’s wish come true
\nTo dive in piles of sweets and goo
\nSo be prepared for sticky hands
\nThis child’s going to Candy Land!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The play was held at the district’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). Lakeview is looking forward to making this a yearly tradition!<\/p>\n
