{"id":5250,"date":"2016-06-04T10:00:50","date_gmt":"2016-06-04T17:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=5250"},"modified":"2016-06-09T08:51:14","modified_gmt":"2016-06-09T15:51:14","slug":"el-dorado-class-of-85-presents-scholarship-to-senior-hannah-lentz-at-awards-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=5250","title":{"rendered":"El Dorado class of &#8217;85 presents scholarship to senior Hannah Lentz at Awards Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the El Dorado High School Senior Awards on Thursday, June 2, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edhs85.com\" target=\"_blank\">EDHS class of 1985<\/a> presented its\u00a0inaugural Golden Hearts Scholarship to Hannah Lentz for her civic contributions. Hannah developed an afterschool music program for underprivileged and autistic children. She collects unwanted instruments, fixes them and donates them to music programs that\u00a0are in need. Additionally, Hannah volunteers at a homeless shelter, and developed a club\/movement called &#8220;One World&#8221; that promotes kindness to reduce negativity at school due to the influence of social media. She does this on top of being a good student, band member and an honor student. She will be attending Colorado State University next year, and plans to implement her afterschool music program there to continue to spread her love of music to all.<\/p>\n<p>The 1985 class decided to raise money for this\u00a0scholarship and\u00a0give back to the school at\u00a0its 30th reunion, which was held in September 2015.
