{"id":716,"date":"2015-10-13T12:00:13","date_gmt":"2015-10-13T19:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=716"},"modified":"2016-02-24T14:33:17","modified_gmt":"2016-02-24T22:33:17","slug":"rose-drive-kindergarten-color-groups-learning-comes-to-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=716","title":{"rendered":"Rose Drive kindergarten &#8220;Color Groups&#8221; \u2013\u2013 learning comes to life!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rose Drive Elementary School kindergarten students were excited to begin their &#8220;Color Group&#8221; (mainstreaming) activities last week on Thursday, Oct. 8.<\/p>\n<p>This center-based program incorporates kindergarten standards-based projects, strategies and practices, and allows students to rotate in groups of seven or eight among a total of nine centers over a nine-week period.<\/p>\n<p>On any given Thursday from 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., you will find approximately 70 general education and special day classes (SDC) kindergarten students partaking in hands-on learning led by one of our teachers or instructional aides. Lessons include healthy food choices, trees, leaves, Mat Man, painting, physical education and social skills, to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Roger&#8217;s group of kindergartners learned about the various parts of trees, as well as their important functions. What a clever way to bring learning to life!
