Even boys have attended meetings, and they’re welcome to do so.

Recently, something took place that was particularly touching, and it was planned and carried out entirely by kids.

It started with a girl showing a video of a dance routine that symbolized the idea of picking yourself up after a tough time. After watching the clip, students were challenged to write motivating messages on Post-it Notes. They could then post these messages around campus, or give them to friends and strangers. The notes would send a positive message to peers that they are all unique, and that’s what makes them incredible. Soon, Mrs. Zamora had girls posting these messages in restrooms, classrooms, locker rooms and on whiteboards. Within a day, there were over 200 messages featuring confidence-building encouragement posted around campus.

The message hit students hard, and now it’s more clear that empowerment is not just for girls, but for the entire community at Kraemer.

Kraemer Middle School language arts teacher Clair Zamora started a Girl Empowerment Club on campus, and it has grown to be very popular with many…

[1178
120
post-7280","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-middle-school","tag-kraemer-middle-school
["GET
