For the first time ever, PYLUSD hosted the Orange County Film Festival (OCFF) at the district’s Performing Arts Center (PAC), located on the campus of El Dorado High School. The 14th annual OCFF took place on Saturday, Jan. 7. Students from 14 high schools around Orange County competed in different movie categories, such as “Short Film,” “Commercial,” “Public Service Announcement (PSA)” and “Documentary.”<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Yorba Linda High School teacher Richard Cadra who was recognized as “Mentor of the Year”!\u00a0Mr. Cadra teaches advanced video productions, which produces “Mustang Mix,” as well as advanced photography, AP studio art and honor’s language arts.<\/p>\n

Congrats also to El Dorado graduate Katie Ann O’Keefe for winning the “Founder’s Award” for her entry, “Finding Me.”<\/p>\n

Founded in 2003, OCFF is designed to showcase the work of up-and-coming filmmakers throughout Orange County. With over 700 people in attendance, OCFF is a widely anticipated event that has received recognition nationwide. This glamorous, one-night-only experience brings students, families and the community together to celebrate artistic excellence in filmmaking.<\/p>\n
