{"id":9091,"date":"2017-06-09T15:03:50","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T22:03:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=9091"},"modified":"2017-06-15T16:31:00","modified_gmt":"2017-06-15T23:31:00","slug":"golden-elementary-pal-members-teach-primary-students-conflict-management-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=9091","title":{"rendered":"Golden Elementary PAL members teach primary students conflict management skills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students helping other students is what PAL (Peer Assistance Leadership) is all about. \u00a0First and second grade students can have trouble taking turns or sharing playground equipment, so fourth and fifth grade PAL students come to the rescue!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This year at\u00a0Golden Elementary School, PAL members were\u00a0trained to utilize conflict management skills. \u00a0Armed with a set of questions to ask and good advice for resolving conflict, the students head to the primary playground. \u00a0As they cruise around wearing bright blue PAL t-shirts, the younger students may approach them with a problem. \u00a0Using a script they have been trained to follow, PAL members allow each side the chance to speak and then agree on a solution.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone learns important social skills through this valuable program.
