{"id":924,"date":"2015-10-28T10:00:30","date_gmt":"2015-10-28T17:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=924"},"modified":"2016-02-25T15:29:27","modified_gmt":"2016-02-25T23:29:27","slug":"lakeview-elementary-piano-prodigy-wins-first-prize-at-carnegie-hall-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/goodnews.pylusd.org\/?p=924","title":{"rendered":"Lakeview Elementary piano prodigy wins first prize at Carnegie Hall competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lakeview Elementary School student Connor Sung, age 10, recently played the piano onstage at the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Connor performed as part of the fourth annual Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competition for Young Pianists. The competition draws an international jury, and attracts outstanding contestants (ages seven to 20) from around the world.<\/p>\n<p>During the competition, Connor played movements from the French Suite in E major, BWV 817 (Johann Sebastian Bach).<\/p>\n<p>Connor was one of only five contestants to advance to the final round, in which he ultimately won first prize. Along with the medal, Connor received a cash prize of $600.<\/p>\n<p>Connor is proud of his hard work, and is very happy to follow in his older brother Andrew&#8217;s footsteps.
