Wednesday, September 13th was a busy day at Parkview School. Parkview held it’s annual Back to School Meet and Greet. Families in attendance were introduced to all staff, the multitude of classes offered, important information they may access on the school’s website, the use of the school\/district calendar, and the many programs, academic as well as extracurricular, offered at Parkview.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Parents were also given a ‘mini’ inservice on Parkview’s Hub and how to access the district’s new language arts program, iReady, Big Ideas, and others.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Parkview parents are offered monthly trainings, which this year will include Big Ideas, Think Central, Step Up to Writing, iReady, along with planning workshops on how to better service their children in these areas. Most of these workshops are offered yearly and multiple times throughout the year to ensure we are providing our parents the best possible support we can. The school has\u00a0already held two workshops on the new language arts adoption for elementary and middle school parents. A high school workshop for parents is coming on October.<\/div>\n

While parents were in classrooms gleaning important information, the littles had a fun time coloring, using sidewalk chalk, and playing games in the quad area. Parkview is a family friendly environment welcoming all.<\/div>\n

The\u00a0school’s counselor, Sara Miller, meets with all high school students and holds group and individual workshops, to assist Parkview students in a variety of areas. She has seven workshops planned thus far for the year. The first one on\u00a0September 25<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for 9th\/10th grade students will assist them with their\u00a0four year plan and college requirements. All other dates and topics may be found on Parkview’s website calendar.<\/div>\n

The morning culminated with a school wide family picnic at the park. This picnic is a great opportunity for new and seasoned families to network, students to meet one another after a long summer off, and introduce themselves to new friends.<\/p>\n
