Before heading home for the holiday, Woodsboro Elementary School’s kindergartners held their own Thanksgiving feast. The students made Pilgrim and Native American costumes for their feast of ham, rolls, carrots, and apples.
The feast was a culmination of an English/Language Arts lesson that included reading and listening to stories about the first Thanksgiving and how children lived and dressed at that time. They had class discussions comparing and contrasting Thanksgiving then and now, and listened to the storybook, “Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving.”
