On December 13, the Superintendent’s High School Advisory Council met in order to provide input and feedback relative to the district’s Local Control Accountability Plan, otherwise known as LCAP. The student group consisted of high school juniors and seniors from all Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) high schools.
Each year, school districts are required to submit a LCAP that describes how districts intend to meet annual goals for all students, English learners, low income students, and foster youth. Specifically, the plan must address local district priorities and the state’s eight priorities, which are Basic Services, Common Core State Standards, Parent Involvement, Pupil Achievement, Student Engagement, School Climate and Connectedness, Access and Enrollment, and Pupil Outcomes.
This meeting was the first of many that will solicit input and feedback regarding the district’s LCAP from various stakeholders including parents, community members, teachers, staff members, and administrators.
