On Wednesday, April 24, Valencia High School’s (VHS) AVID Senior Standout, Genesis Delgado, was awarded a $6,250 4-year renewable scholarship for a grand total of $25,000. This is the largest award amount that any AVID student can receive.
Genesis states “AVID, the home that has taught me moral from immoral and individualism from collectivism. It has given me the strength needed to voice my opinion in spite of my insecurities.”
Genesis will be attending University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall.
“A big thank you to all who have guided Genesis these past 4 years,” shared AVID counselor, Liz Nasouf. “She would not be where she is without your support of this life-changing program.”
