One of Lakeview Elementary School’s leadership groups, Peer Mentors, helped to teach their Mentees – students who they are mentoring – how to “spread kindness like confetti” during the last week of April. The Peer Mentors took their Mentees around during recess time and helped to teach them how to approach new friends while sharing colorful kindness cards which stated kind compliments on them. All the Lakeview Lions enjoyed receiving them and many asked for more. Some students even took it a step further and passed on the kindness to another friend or teacher.
As a way to continue the kindness throughout the staff, Peer Mentor Supervisors gave each teacher a personal compliment card that stated a unique kind message about them along with a “KIND” Bar. Teachers were encouraged to pass on the kindness to others.
