On Thursday, November 8, the El Dorado High School Concert Choir had a magical performance at the Disneyland Resort in their “Community Arts Showcase.” The Golden Hawks were selected by the Resort to present 30 minutes of their own music based on audition materials submitted last June. Limited spots are open to local school music programs and this is the first time the EDHS Choral Music Program has been chosen to perform at Disneyland in 11 years.
The EDHS Concert Choir is a non-auditioned ensemble open to ALL students 9th through 12th grade. The majority of this 100-member group is comprised of first year high school choir students. The Concert Choir came together for an enthusiastic and inspirational performance of holiday classics, Disney favorites, and high energy movie music! The program was awarded an engraved plaque at the end of their showcase.
The school’s Advanced Choirs were also selected for this high honor and will perform at the Disneyland Resort on February 27.
“It has been an exciting year of incredible opportunities for our choirs to work with the Disneyland Resort,” mentioned Director of Choral Music, Ryan Yoder.
