Thirteen years later, Mrs. Lyman from Mabel Paine Elementary School wanted to get her kindergarten class from 2006 together one last time before they graduated and all left the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD). Calls were made and the message was sent out to have these students come back to their old stomping grounds of Mabel Paine Elementary. Once a Mustang, always a Mustang!
Out of 28 students, 16 seniors reunited with Mrs. Lyman for a class photo outside of their old kindergarten room and then on the playground. Two of these students, Ava Kough and Joshua Zavala, were at the opening day of Yorba Linda High School as shown in the newspaper clipping below.
“It was a heartwarming reunion to have so many students come back to where it all started for them, just as they finish up their educational career within PYLUSD,” shared Mrs. Lyman. “Good luck Class of 2019! We are so proud of you!”
