Mark your calendars! The District’s third annual Women in Industry event is coming soon

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) cordially invites you to attend the third annual Women in Industry event on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. This inspirational evening will be geared towards empowering the next generation of female leaders through 21st century learning.

Families and students of all ages are encouraged to attend Women in Industry for the opportunity to learn from an esteemed panel of female captains of industry who represent diverse professional sectors including keynote speaker, Jane Wu.

Wu has served in a wide variety of roles including Storyboard Artist, Producer, and Director in the Film and TV Industry. Notably, she began her career in Animation before specializing in Action. Her talent has afforded her the opportunity to work on movie projects such as Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Percy Jackson, and more.

Notable female industry leaders such as National Basketball Association (NBA) Referee, Violet Palmer, Winemaking Director, Monica Belavic, Infectious Disease Physician, Natalie L. Crawford, MD, and many more will also participate on the panel and share firsthand experiences involving their journeys, positions, and successes through a ‘Q & A’ session.

Career Technical Education (CTE) Academy and CareerLink Pathway students will serve as hosts and moderators to the event in order to incorporate a student’s viewpoint with the professional perspectives of the panel members.

PYLUSD students in attendance that evening will also have the opportunity to win a Google Chromebook!

The PYLUSD Women in Industry event will take place Tuesday, October 15, 2019, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in the PYLUSD Performing Arts Center located at 1651 Valencia Ave, Placentia, CA 92870 and is free to the public.
