Group of PYLUSD students create non-profit to make communities a cleaner place

Local non-profit.

A group of Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) elementary, middle, and high school students are working to better their community. The volunteer group called “Poop Free Community” is a PYLUSD student-founded and led non-profit organization. The students and their families are volunteering to help clean dog and human waste for everyone in the community while also raising awareness of making the surrounding communities a better place to live.

The non-profit is led by Samuel Choi, a ninth-grade student at Valencia High School. Other volunteers include students from Mabel Paine Elementary, Yorba Linda Middle, Kraemer, Yorba High School, and Valencia. The volunteer service has been recognized by the Yorba Linda Public Works Department and Chino Hills State Park for their efforts. More information is available on their website www.poopfreecommunity.org.
