El Dorado presents Terry Conley Athletes of Character Awards and inducts a former athlete and coach to Wall of Fame

El Dorado awards ceremony.

El Dorado High School enjoyed honoring this year’s Terry Conley Athletes of Character on May 10 at the Black and Gold Awards. The award is dedicated to the memory of Coach Terry Conley. In addition, the Golden Hawks added two new members to their Athletic Wall of Fame.

Coach Charles Titus was a long-time EDHS English teacher, track and field coach, and strength and conditioning expert. Janie Takeda Reed was a four-year softball player who attended the University of Oregon setting multiple records there, before playing for the national team and participating in the Olympics.

“We were honored to recognize all of these current and former golden hawk athletes last night,” Principal Joey Davis shared. “Special thanks to our Athletic Director, Ray Elliott and his team of contributors who planned and organized this special event. They include Sally Reclusado, Carl Sweet, Connie Gross, and Steve Gullotti.”
