On Saturday, November 18, all four Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) band programs competed in the SCSBOA Field Band Championships.
“It was fantastic to see all four of our schools be selected to perform in the finals competitions,” Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator Phil Mortensen shared. “Each of our schools that participated was one of the top twelve groups in their class representing all of Southern California.”
Here is how each band scored:
In the 2A Championships, Yorba Linda High School, under the direction of Bincins Garcia, earned 9th Place.
In the 4A Championships, Esperanza High School, under the direction of Bradley Davis, earned 7th Place. In the same category, Valencia High School, under the direction of Richard King, earned 9th Place.
In the 6A Championships, El Dorado High School, under the direction of Eric Samson, earned 5th Place.
