Rio Vista raises thousands of dollars to help battle blood cancer

For the past four years, Rio Vista Elementary School has participated in a school-wide service project through the Orange County Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The students, along with their teachers and parents, made the gift of giving a priority.

The school’s three week campaign recently concluded with a total of $6,428.35 in donations!

Mrs.Beresford’s kindergarten class raised a total of $551.18. Her class will be treated to an Olive Garden luncheon in the coming weeks.

As a school, Rio Vista had 14 classrooms raising $100 to$199; nine classrooms raising $200 to 299; and three classrooms raising $300 or more! Rio Vista students, teachers and parents are truly “Champions of Change.”
