Several Travis Ranch School students were selected to attend a screening and award ceremony for the 2016 Yorba Linda Teen Film Festival at the Yorba Linda Public Library on Friday, March 11. Zach Cooper received an award for Best Sound, Music and/or Sound Effects. Cole Voge, Tyler Nguyen and Jack Loughran received an award for Best Film Effects. Frances Lee, Reem Jalabi, Lisa Samy, Justin Lopez, Rhys Weingarten, Shawn Melwani and Ryan Stampfli received Honorable Mention. Many of the eighth grade students accepted into this sought-after elective come in with no video or TV broadcasting experience. Under the direction of teacher Paola Hellwig, students learn the basic techniques of video production and editing, as well as how to produce a daily live TV news broadcast in the school’s TRTV studio. Travis Ranch is so proud of the continued success and accomplishments of these TRTV students!
