On Tuesday, January 20, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education convened for its regularly scheduled meeting, during which Superintendent of Schools Kym LeBlanc-Esparza, Ed.D., recognized the Board in observance of School Board Recognition Month. This annual observance honors more than 5,000 school board members across California, the largest group of elected officials in the state, who play a critical role in advancing student success through effective governance, advocacy, and community leadership.
The Board of Education serves as a critical link between schools and the broader community. As elected representatives, board members are responsible for establishing the district’s mission and vision, setting policy priorities, responsibly stewarding public resources, and ensuring accountability by monitoring progress toward district goals.
As a gesture of appreciation, trustees were presented with original artwork created by talented students from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. The recognition underscored the Board’s ongoing commitment to students, staff, and families, and affirmed the district’s gratitude for their dedication to public education.
