AVID students from Tuffree visit their high school counterparts at El Dorado

On Monday, March 22, eighth grade AVID students from Tuffree Middle School made a one-mile trek to meet up with their 10th and 11th grade counterparts at El Dorado High School. AVID is a college readiness and support program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on enhancing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills. EDHS students described the support they receive from teachers and tutors, and how AVID has helped them in their academic career. These eighth graders are the first AVID students from Tuffree, and El Dorado will have their first graduating class of AVID students this June.
