On Wednesday, August 12, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) hosted its 3rd Annual International Student Orientation Luncheon, welcoming 33 students from 11 countries around the world. This year’s cohort includes students from Italy (12), China (9), Germany (2), South Korea (2), Switzerland (2), Brazil (1), Finland (1), Poland (1), Serbia (1), Spain (1), and Vietnam (1).
The luncheon provided students with an opportunity to meet one another and begin their transition to American high school life. Associated Student Body (ASB) representatives from El Dorado, Esperanza, Valencia, and Yorba Linda high schools also joined the event, helping students learn more about their new schools, activities, and campus life while giving them a familiar face to look for on the first day of school.
PYLUSD is excited to welcome this year’s international students and looks forward to the friendships, experiences, and connections they will build throughout the school year.
