Bernardo Yorba students chalk it up on Earth Day

Friday, April 22, was Earth Day, and Bernardo Yorba Middle School celebrated in style! For the third year in a row BYMS celebrated as a school with both students and faculty making online pledges to live a greener lifestyle. During morning announcements, students shared interesting facts about the environment, as well as tips for living a more sustainable lifestyle. In the science department, Mrs. Spicer’s seventh grade honors classes researched, designed and created sidewalk chalk posters to raise awareness of the environment. Mrs. Hanger’s eighth grade honors classes took advantage of the Yorba Linda sunshine to create solar ovens from pizza boxes, and enjoy solar s’mores.
