Bernardo Yorba Middle School’s (BYMS) Advanced Drama and Choir teamed up on October 24, 2017 to raise awareness of the “dramatic” effects of bullying.
In a show filled with inspirational song and both comedic and dramatic skits, BYMS actors and singers put on two daytime assemblies and an evening show that sent a powerful message about standing together to stop the power of a bully. Three of the four skits performed by Drama were written by students enrolled in the elective; Bailey Speakman, Jake Flores, and Nora Nguib-Estefanous demonstrated their creative talents by both writing and acting lead roles in their skits.
This show was a great way to get students thinking about the effects of bullying as the school headed into Kindness Week with a focus on making BYMS a place where kindness rules.
