On Thursday, Oct. 6, and Friday, Oct. 7, PYLUSD hosted the California Out-of-State and International (COSI) College Fair at the district’s Professional Development Academy (PDA). Educators, guidance counselors, college and career coordinators, and AVID teachers accompanied juniors and seniors who have shown interest in exploring out-of-state and international college options. Students from all PYLUSD schools attended, as well as students from Orange Unified School District, Capistrano Valley High School and Buena Park High School.
Students were provided a guide listing contact information for all college representatives, information on studying out-of-state or internationally, and a sampling of focus questions to prepare them for the event.
In addition, educators will be completing the experiential component (Part II) of their Introduction to Out-of-State College Advising micro credential. They were identified with a special name tag, and will meet with a variety of college representatives to discover out-of-state opportunities for their students.
