Something special happened at Tuffree Middle School during drop-off on Friday, Feb. 24. With upbeat music blaring, 32 associated student body (ASB) students dressed in Tuffree shirts and fun colored tutus holding yellow balloons and laminated signs with positive messages greeted parents and students as they arrived at school! This “Sprinkle Happiness” event won’t soon be forgotten. Even people driving by on Kraemer Boulevard slowed down to see what was happening. One random motorist later called the school to express how this display of positivity helped her get through a difficult week. Tuffree students hoped to spread a little cheer in a world where, sometimes, these messages are lacking. They certainly had a fabulous time doing it. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 25, these same students repeated this enthusiastic campaign on Imperial Highway at the Village at La Floresta shopping center, at a fire station on Valencia Avenue and, finally, on Yorba Linda Boulevard and Bastenchury Avenue. Tuffree received many positive phone calls, as well as impactful comments on the school’s Facebook page.
