On June 7, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District’s Adult Transition Program, Venture Academy, held its annual commencement ceremony in honor of the Class of 2017.
Following the ten graduates’ procession, Principal Kim Smith welcomed the families, staff members, district administrators, and Board members in attendance. Principal Smith also discussed how proud she was of the graduates’ accomplishments working at local businesses such as Orchard Supply Hardware, Savers, the PYLUSD office, and many more.
Judi Carmona, Board of Education Trustee, then accepted the Class of 2017 as having completed the mandatory program requirements. She also offered sincere words of encouragement to the students.
To finish the ceremony, Principal Smith individually invited each graduate on stage to shake hands with Board members, teachers, and district administrators before receiving their certificates.
Congratulations, graduates!
