On Wednesday March 28, El Dorado High School (EDHS) held its first career day in over a decade. Three driving forces made this event a reality — Mrs. Ashley Hamilton, the school’s College and Career Technician; the EDHS PTSA; and the PTSA Student Leadership group.

Seventy-two guest speakers were recruited from a wide variety of careers. Each speaker shared their path to their career, the requirements, salary, and a typical work day. Students had the opportunity to select three speakers to listen to including representatives from fields like the military, human resources, cosmetics, education, aerospace, law, eSports, medicine, and much more. The speakers were event treated to a continental breakfast and a full lunch, courtesy of PTSA.

After witnessing the student enthusiasm and positive feedback surrounding the event, El Dorado is already planning their next Career Day for the Fall of 2019!
