Esperanza Aztecs host choir festival at PAC including El Dorado Golden Hawks and Yorba Linda Mustangs

On April 26, Esperanza High School (EHS) hosted a choir festival through the Southern California Vocal Association (SCVA) in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Performing Arts Center (PAC).

El Dorado High School’s (EDHS) Vocal Ensemble and Advanced Women’s Ensemble, Esperanza High School’s Vocal Ensemble and Vivace, and Yorba Linda High School’s (YLHS) Mustang Singers all participated and represented the District really well amongst 15 other high school choirs from across southern California.

The EDHS Vocal Ensemble received a “Superior” in the “Advanced” division.  This is the highest possible rating within the highest level choirs can enter in.  The EDHS Advanced Women’s Ensemble received an “Excellent” in the “Intermediate” division.

“This is their inaugural year and we are so proud of how well they performed,” shared El Dorado’s Director of Choral Music, Ryan Yoder.

Esperanza High School Vocal Ensemble received an “Excellent” in the “Advanced” division and Vivace received a “Superior” in the “Intermediate” division.

Yorba Linda’s Mustang Singers received an “Excellent” rating in the “Intermediate” division under the direction of Carol Gilfoy, YLHS Director of Choral Music.
