The Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) Jazz 1 band came in 3rd in their division out of 18 bands from all around the United States, Canada, & Australia who were in attendance at the International Reno Jazz Festival. Solo awards went to Michael Frelly, Trumpet; Natalie Suvarnashuddi, Alto Sax; Jessica Gutierrez, Tenor Sax; and Nathan Sakaria, Bari Sax. The Mustangs are lead by Yorba Linda’s Director of Bands, Bincins Garcia.
Off the stage, the Mustangs also had the opportunity to take an educational visit to Manzanar, a Japanese-American Relocation Camp from World War II.
