On Thursday, November 9, approximately 130 Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) seniors participated in a business expo competition where they presented a business pitch to over 20 judges from the Yorba Linda community. Students worked for over a month developing their business idea, creating prototypes/visuals, researching the market/industry, and crafting their business pitch.
The judges had the challenging task of distinguishing five business teams as finalists. Congratulations to the following Mustang seniors for their extraordinary work:
Finalists
1st Place – Brianna Erbach, Jaidyn Hill
2nd Place – Jaydyn Webb, Austin Mena
3rd Place – Lisa Mallat, Ashley Loera, Luke Gottlieb, Lisa Pham, Daniel Balducci, Kaila Melanson, Amaya Shepherd, Zoey Chapman
YLHS extends thanks to Will Taormina & Rachel Herzog from the National Startup League for their guidance and organization of this event; Lloyd Walls and Samiya Hai for putting this project-based-learning experience together; members from the Yorba Linda community including several members of the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce for judging and supporting the event; and Shea Runge, Meshell Maes and the YLHS custodial staff for providing the facilities and equipment for the expo.
