Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) student Taylor Tran was recently named the Grand Prix Award winner at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) competition in San Diego Regional for the 2019 season.
YAGP is the world’s largest ballet competition with about 9,000 dancers competing in semifinals across the United States and internationally. Only the very best dancers move on to the finals in New York, of which Taylor will be going to! The Grand Prix Award is a coveted award given to the top-performer in both classical and contemporary dance.
Before this most recent award, the Mustang was also recognized on stage as a recipient for the Laguna Dance Festival (LDF) Young Artists Scholarship. She earned $1,000! Taylor was only one of five chosen from Orange County amongst the hundreds that apply. The LDF’s mission is to present world-class dance performance, increase public appreciate for the art, and provide for dance education.
You make YLHS proud, Taylor!
