Students at Ruby Drive Elementary School were recently treated to a visit by award-winning author Alane Adams. Adams has penned several book series for children including The Legends of Orkney trilogy, four picture books, and her latest, “The Blue Witch,” as a part of the Witches of Orkney series.
Adams, a literacy advocate, has visited Ruby Drive four years in a row now and spoke to students about the power of imagination and reading. Students were able to ask Adams questions about being an author and how she crafts her stories. She shared how her son was her initial inspiration to write and how Norse mythology has influenced her work. Students were both entertained and inspired by her talk!
