For a number of years, Kraemer Middle School has had a Rock and Blues Band Club on campus. Hosted by teacher Scott Morris, the participating students all have varying levels of experience with music, but an equal passion for it.
What started after school has become a P.R.I.D.E. activity where students from all over campus come together to jam. P.R.I.D.E. is a 30 minute period during the school day that serves to support all learners on Kraemer’s campus through student enrichment and intervention.
On Wednesday, February 20, the Rock and Blues Band hosted one of its best lunchtime concerts to date. Self-proclaimed band leader, Dylan Castiglione, along with a collection of students representing all facets of the school, rocked out heavy-metal-style during both lunches. The Cubs even had a closely monitored and administrator approved “mosh pit” during first lunch, according to Principal Keith Carmona.
“Kraemer is a great place for many reasons, but probably the best asset is the manner in which kids from all walks of life have opportunities to become connected to one another,” Carmona mentioned.
Rock on, Kraemer!
