Students in need at Melrose Elementary gifted new shoes

Melrose shoes.

The Placentia Round Table recently donated a gift card from Target to Melrose Elementary School to benefit students in need. With this money, the school’s community liaison, Susan Swinfard, could buy shoes for students.

“We have had a lot of students lately coming in with ripped shoes or shoes that are too small for them,” shared Swinfard. “I reached out to Ms. Anne Guse from the Placentia Round Table and they were able to help us.”

In total, the school was able to purchase 14 pair of new shoes to be distributed to those that need them most.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District McKinney Vento Program, under the direction of Liaison Jon Matson, also generously donated money to purchase additional shoes for the Melrose Marlins. Between the Placentia Round Table and McKinney Vento, the school was able to provide 21 pairs of shoes to their needy students. Well done!
